SOLAR SPA HEATING

OVERVIEW
This setup uses a 24 volt transformer to power a 2 Way Zone valve to completely bypass the existing spa heater. The spa heater needs to be turned off by its relay when solar heat is available. For more specific information, please view these documents:
Operation is a simple make on rise aquastat or thermostat, set to the lowest setting, usually about 115 F to activate close on make 2 way valve as well as the 006 Taco pump or equal to cause a flow of solar heated water through the heat exchanger. A spa heater relies on resistance of spring check to cause flow to go through a spa heat exchanger when there is not enough solar heat available. |
